Gas Prices...Empty Gas Tank?

Check this out... http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/10/26/gas.prices/index.html

Gas Prices are lowering!!! I can not believe it! When I was in Texas this past weekend they were extremely low. Also, in Ada, OH the gas prices are 30 or 40 cent more than the prices in Lima, OH. Crazy!!

I am just so excited that the prices are lowering and my gas tank is close to "E".

Student Athlete Advisory Committee

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee is an unknown group to many athletes and non-athletes on campus. Yet, it is a great organization that I started being a part of my sophomore year and now I am the president of the group. It wasn't until this year that I realized how important SAAC is to the athletic department and programs.

SAAC is made up of representatives from all the different sports teams on campus. We work with getting interaction between all the teams, establish relationships between faculty and athletes, promote all the games/matches and work with the legislation of the NCAA. It is awesome!!

Then today I attended the OAC SAAC meeting and we were able to talk about the different rule changes that are up for voting and exchange ideas with other OAC SAACs. It was so fun and interesting to hear about what is going on on other campuses and maybe even steal a few ideas! :)

Anyways, I now understand the important of having SAAC and why it is a part of athletics. I hope that we can make a difference this year and be an active organization.

Politics... Blah!

I am interested in giving my vote for who will being running our country for the four years but I hate all the bullcrap, personal comments and lying that goes along with it. I am extremely worried about our nation because of the current economy and I know it is not going to get better real soon. So...the importance of a strong, effective leader for our country is key.

Yet... I struggle to watch debates because of all the rude comments that come along. I am not a type of person to rip on someones personal life when it has nothing to do with topic being discussed. WHY? Stick to the discussion and important topics. Why do we need to discuss candidates families or other personal issues? I think that is why I am so turned off my politics.

In addition, I hate the fact that I honestly don't believe very much that the candidates say. I know that they are just saying what they think the people want to hear and maybe not truly what they are going to do when in office. That really bothers me. I mean a lot!

Anyways, I am going to try to stay interested in politics and the presidential race but it is not going to be easy with all the outside distractions and comments.

OAC Volleyball Underway

We finally had our first OAC game Friday at John Carroll. How pumped was I?? Super!! You play the first month of your season to improve and get better, so that once OAC begins you are at the top of your game. Conference is the season. It is the heart of the season and then hopefully it leads you right into the NCAA Tournament.

We were so pumped as a team... yet we didn't play well when the game actually happened. At times that is so tough to understand. How can we emotionally be excited and then physically not play well. Those two just do not add up in my mind. It is so difficult at times because in your mind you are stoked and prepared to play, but then you can not get your body to do what it is suppose to do. Confusion!

We have a huge week this next week because we play 3 home OAC matches. Not only are there 3 but we have tough opponents. Tuesday we play Heidelberg, Friday we have Mount Union and Saturday we end with Marietta. All I want is to play to our potential and leave everything out on the floor. I do not want to leave any of the games left in our season with regrets or questions. We are such a good team and I want to show everyone!

It is all about BELIEVING... Lets do it Bears!
